Email Address List

Almost 70 percent of members who have joined since September 2005 have supplied an email address with their application. Given this high proportion, (and I would expect a similar proportion of those who joined before this date), it would be remiss of Swanland U3A not to take advantage of this modern means of communication. Therefore the committee has decided to set up a list of members who do not mind receiving some information by email. No U3A funds will be used to set up and maintain this list. In other words members who do not have email access will not be subsidising those who do. Indeed there may be some cost savings to us.

Subscription to the list will be voluntary and free. It will be private and email details will not be disclosed. All messages sent will be sent as blind copies, ie the only email address revealed will be that of the recipient.

The only way to join this list is to send an email from your current email address to: swanlandu3a@pinecroft.karoo.co.uk with Subscribe as the subject line and with your name and membership number in the body of the text. If you want your email address to be removed from the list, send an email as above but with Unsubscribe as the subject line. All such messages will be acknowledged.

I promise that you will not be bombarded with email messages and that all messages will be scanned automatically for viruses and other malware. I hope that most of you with an email address will join.

Please note that communication will be one way, ie from Swanland U3A to you, as in general, the email box will only be opened when we have information to send out. If you want to communicate with the committee, please do so through the usual channels.
